General Conditions

  1. The “Classic Winds” International Competition will take place in Vienna, Austria from 26 April to 5 May 2027.
  2. The Competition is open to applicants of all nationalities. Applicants must be not older than 35 years at the date of the opening ceremony of the competition (26th of April 2027).
  3. A preliminary selection will take place via video submission, and selected participants will be admitted to the Competition in Vienna, which will consist of three rounds. The first two rounds will be recitals, and the final round will be performed with orchestra.
  4. The Application procedure must be done online. Candidates will not be admitted to the competition unless payment is received. The registration fee will not be refunded for any reason.
  5. Candidates must fill in the application form, upload their videos and list their programmes in the order of performance.
  6. Pieces performed in the video pre-selection may not be presented at the live rounds during the competition in Vienna.
  7. Programmes cannot be changed after the submission of the application.
  8. The application procedure must be done online. Candidates will not be admitted to the Competition unless payment is received. A non-refundable fee of €50 required for the video pre-selection round. Candidates selected to participate at the live rounds in Vienna must pay an additional €50 to confirm their participation. Payment details will be sent after registration via the official online form. In case of withdrawal, subscription money will not be reimbursed.
  9. All interested applicants should register and upload their videos, and the chosen applicants from the video pre-selection will be contacted by the organising committee by February 15, 2027
  10. All stages may be performed with music scores.
  11. Travel, accommodation and visa costs, if necessary, are the responsibility of the participants themselves.
  12. The Competition provides accompanists upon request of the participants. Each candidate will have one rehearsal with the accompanist for each round. However, participants may bring their own accompanist.
  13. The decisions of the jury are final and not subject to review or appeal. All decisions and votes of the jury starting from the 1st round till the final round will be published on the website after the announcement of the results.
  14. Copyright All stages of the Competition may be broadcast live and/or may be recorded and videotaped for subsequent broadcast, video, DVD, audio recording or any other format/media use. It is anticipated that recordings of selected Competition performances will be commercially produced, that a documentary of the Competition incorporating selected performances will be produced for television, and that parts of the Competition will be made available on the Internet. Camera crews may film all Competition events. In the eventuality of radio or television productions, audio or video recordings of the tests or of the winners’ concerts the participants have no right to advance claims or financial requests to the producers or transmitters.
